“You shall speak to him and put words in his mouth; I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do”.
Ex 4:15 NIV

Today communication has become a major pastime of millions of people. The advent of mobile (cell) phones and the internet, together with the “Social Media”, Facebook and Twitter, have brought new dimensions to personal communication. And they are even affecting politics.
In the act of creation in the Bible it records that God said, “Let there be light” and there was light. From then on God is a speaking God – he spoke to and through his servants. Now God is planning his big act – rescuing his people from slavery. But he is planning something else. On Mt Sinai he was going to “speak” to Moses and give him the Ten Commandments. They became known as “The Ten Words”. Not being a speaker, Moses was in a strange position. It is all about speaking and words. And God informed Moses that he, God would speak to him, and he, Moses, would then speak to Aaron who would then speak to the people – so God’s message would get to them one way or another. Later there came the prophets, first speaking agents and then writing their message down. In the end he would come in Christ, the Word made flesh. And he would give his disciples the charge to go to all the people of the world. And tell them, in words, the truth about the love of God.
Still he is putting words into the mouths of his servants and they are telling the message over and over again. And the words give life, meaning, wholeness, and salvation.

Lord, help me always to hear you speaking and to speak of you.
