Prayers

Worship – 4th August 2019

Lord, it’s worship time again. Let the church resound with praise and let the congregations get a glimpse of your glory. Grant that the gospel of Christ’s love may inspire and help believers to renew their faith and nurture them in their walk with you. I ask it in Jesus’ name – AMEN.

New born children – 3rd August 2019

Lord bless all families where a new child has just been born. Remind them that a baby is God’s opinion that life must go on, and that life is worthwhile. Help the parents to dream beautiful dreams and help the grandparents to show love and concern. In Jesus’ name I ask – AMEN.

Bereaved – 2nd August 2019

I pray today Lord for families who have recently been bereaved. In their grief take hold of them and guide them forward. Help them as they sift through memories of the past and try to put regrets and painful thoughts behind them. Grant them love. I ask it in Jesus’ name – AMEN.

Help and guidance – 1st August 2019

Lord, I pray today for your help and guidance. So often I rely on my own competence or wisdom. Show me your way, O Lord in all things. Help me to be wise, loving, sensitive and sensible. Give me courage to be strong and to resist temptation. I ask it in Christ’s name – AMEN.

Children – 31st July 2019

I pray for those children who grow up in homes where there are constant quarrels. Help them to know that they are not the cause of the problems and that they are still loved. Help them not to despise either parent but to love them equally. I ask it in Christ’s holy name – AMEN.

Radiant Christian Living – 30th July 2019

I pray today Lord for those who are shining examples of strong and radiant Christian living. Grant that they may spread their holy influence in humble ways and cause others to wish that they too could know the peace and personal strength they show. I ask it in Christ’s name – AMEN

Daily work – 29th July 2019

I pray Lord for those who dislike, or even dread their daily work. Bless those who fear the beginning of another working week, wondering how they will ever see it through. Grant them courage and a quiet mind, hope and the certainty that you love them. I ask it in Jesus’ name – AMEN.
